Ski touring area Wandberg/ Geigelstein

Further information

Tour description

Around the Geigelstein nature reserve, ski tourers are offered a special panorama of the Kaiser Mountains and the Inn Valley. What makes this lookout mountain so special is not only the view "from behind" into the Kaisertal, but also the nature reserve and thus the retreat for animals in winter.

Numerous tour options start from Sachrang, Innerwlad (near Sachrang) or Schleching. If you want to climb the neighbouring Wandberg on the Austrian side, Schwemm or Wildbichl are good starting points.
Out of consideration for the animals, which are weakened in winter, you are advised to avoid the shelters.

A ski tour is a great experience! However, for tours into unsecured, open terrain, one should entrust oneself to an experienced mountain guide. Detailed tour planning is essential. You can find exact tour routes in the Alpine Club's map "BY17 Chiemgauer Alpen West", which is available in shops.
Click here to go to the DAV online shop.

Before your tour, find out about the current weather conditions and the latest avalanche report at www.zamg.ac.at & www.lawine.at or call +43 512 508 802255.

For the good of nature, please pay attention to the forest-wildlife protection areas so that the animals, weakened in winter, can go foraging in peace.

The Kufsteinerland Tourist Association accepts no liability whatsoever for the designation of the touring area. They only serve as an aid in planning the tour. The decision whether or not to go on the tour lies with the hiker himself.
