Extensive hiking tour around the beautiful lakes of the Kufsteinerland
Crystal clear water. Magnificent beech and fir forests. Interesting flora and fauna. The hiking tour leads around the most beautiful lakes in Kufsteinerland. Starting from Hechtsee, you hike along the shores of Egelsee, Längsee and Pfrillsee.
From the parking lot at Hechtsee to Egelsee, the path is not signposted. Accordingly, it is advisable to follow the description or to have a good hiking map with you.
In northern direction you start past a large, older residential building to the edge of the forest. There you follow the right gravel road past two family houses further north through the meadows. At a sharp bend to the right, where there is a small house (number 11), take the gravel path to the left into the forest. Follow this path until you reach a Y-junction where you take the right path downhill. Shortly after, another path branches off sharply to the left, which you take. With this path you reach after about 15-20 minutes the Egelsee, which is under Natura 2000 protection, and then first through the forest, then across a small meadow down to the northern edge of the Hechtsee. But the bridge, the outflow of the lake, the path is signposted throughout.
On the southwest side of the Hechstee you follow its inflow uphill - a beautiful idyllic little stream - and reach the Längsee, which is hidden in the forest. After crossing the main road to Thiersee, it takes only a few minutes to reach the Pfrillsee. You walk around half of it. You have already completed half of the route via a small path. Now you get back to the Hechstsee via the Thierberg and its ruins with a great lookout tower.
