A relatively long and predominantly challenging tour through diverse landscapes. Along the Dry Creek Valley, there are idyllic alpine meadows and ancient farms. Several huts along the tour invite you to take a break and refuel.
The tour begins at the parish church in Erl, initially following the asphalted Erlerbergstraße to the beginning of Gaisgraben, just before the Kranzhorn parking lot. From there, you turn right into the Dry Creek Valley, where the ascent becomes somewhat gentler. Riding through the serene valley with picturesque alpine meadows below the Spitzstein can be enjoyed with ease until shortly after the Schwarzrieshütte (operational) with light pedaling. Then, you cross over a stream to the right towards the Spitzstein. A moderately difficult, steeper ascent through the forest follows until emerging from the woods at Nesselbrand Alm, where you'll need to push for a short stretch.
The majority of the climb is behind you at this point. After the Alm, you have the option to either ascend left to Altkaseralm or proceed straight to the lower-lying Spitzsteinhaus (both operational). From there, the asphalt road winds past Goglalm, the Erlerberg parking lot, and the individual farms on Erlerberg, descending back down to the valley to the starting point.
