A day tour through the Alpine foothills with no major gradients and which requires a good level of basic endurance.
Kufstein fortress behind you, turn in direction of Walchsee at the Haflinger village of Ebbs, and continue along gentle hills to Reith im Winkl. Shortly afterwards, the route then forks off to the right and winds through idyllic forest ridges to Ruhpolding and further north. Siegsdorf marks the turnaround point and then you ride the 10 km to Staudach and keep north, heading directly to Chiemsee. Until Seebruck, ‘The Bavarian sea’ as Chiemsee is also known, remains in your line of sight. A sweeping loop marks the start of the return leg via Eggstätt to Simssee, whose southern banks to Neubeuern are lined with fields, woodlands and meadowland – time for a meditative ride to Kufstein.
