Stage 3: Kufstein - Kitzbüheler Horn

This year the Kufsteinerland is the starting region for the Österreich Rundfahrt on the 9th of July 2018. With start in Kufstein, the professional racing cyclists ride along parts of this year's UCI Cycling World Championship route through Schwoich and Bad Härung. After a loop they pass through the region again in the direction of Walchsee. The Kufsteinerland shows its best side for racing cyclists with the goal on the nearby Kitzbüheler Horn.

In the past the region was the starting point for top cycling events, including the Deutschland Tour and the Tour of the Alps due to the perfect topography for all demands among racing cyclists,. Since the introduction of the Kufsteinerland Radmarathon in 2016, we now have our own highlight in the sports event calendar. This year the Kufsteinerland Radmarathon takes place again. On 08.-09. September we welcome numerous cyclists to a fortress city sprint and 2 races of different length on Sunday.

Great conditions for big events

At the Tour of Austria it becomes clear again how ideal the conditions for road cycling in the region are. In addition, this contributes to the positive mood among the population, especially in the run-up to the UCI Road World Championships 2018. The region offers countless racing bike tracks with more than 1,500 kilometers and more than 14,000 vertical meters. City and mountains, bustle and idyllic nature are close together in the Kufsteinerland, but often with many vertical meters in between. The routes are varied from demanding and challenging to relaxed flat stages. A hilly experience with great mountain stages awaits all athletes.
