CATASTROPHE & CURE - Kufstein

Catastrophe & Cure can now look back on more than ten years of band history. Since the release of their debut album Like Crazy Doves in 2012, which earned them an FM4 Amadeus Award, the band has been a fixture on the Austrian indie scene. With their second album Undeniable/Irresistible in 2015, Catastrophe & Cure broke new ground and opened up their sound to electronic influences. Two years and numerous tours through Austria and Germany later, the band released their Blank Spots mini-LP and the single On the Internet. The latter was named one of the best indie rock songs of 2017 by the renowned international music blog Indie Shuffle. With their fourth album Somewhere Down the Line, the quintet rekindled their old love of guitar-heavy songs in 2020, paving the way for the future, so to speak. It is the work of a band that has found a new serenity after years of experimentation. The singles In the Wind and Like a River are the first harbingers of the new album! While In the Wind is a raw indie rock gem that provides the perfect soundtrack for a road trip, Like a River features a balladic verse and a dry-as-dust grunge chorus.

In the spring of 2025, Catastrophe & Cure's new album will be released and the band will be going on tour again! This much can be revealed: on the new album, the quintet work their way through the various sounds of 90s alternative rock, but always sound modern and original.
