Das 25. Große Chinesische Neujahrskonzert
Not everyone celebrates New Year on 1 January. In China, the new year doesn't begin until the end of the month. For the Tyrolean Festival, this is of course an opportunity to celebrate again. On 31 January, we therefore invite you to the Grand Chinese New Year's Concert. And as usual – at the festival since 2015 – it will be worth it: The programme consists of traditional Chinese music revolving around the zodiac sign of the snake. The year 2025 falls under this sign (this cycle repeats every 12 years). The snake represents, among other things, wisdom, beauty, charm and change. Under the direction of Li Xincao, you will not only hear many pieces, but also instruments that are rarely heard in our part of the world: guzheng, erhu and suona. The Traditional Orchestra of the Chinese Conservatory of Music brings together outstanding Chinese instrumentalists from around the world and is an ensemble that is now the benchmark for traditional Chinese music. Robert Meyer will be your host for the evening. If that's not a good enough reason to raise a glass, we don't know what is!
