It is one of the few regions in Tyrol that is characterised by its proximity to the neighbouring Bavarian lake district with the Bavarian Sea, Lake Chiemsee. There you will find ideal conditions for extended tours without having to contend with indomitable climbs. At the same time, you can continuously gain metres in altitude, whether over Alpine passes such as the Sudelfeldpass or on summit tours such as to the prestigious Kitzbüheler Horn mountain. As part of the world's largest e-bike region, Kufsteinerland is ideally equipped in terms of service, hire and charging stations for e-bikes. Road cyclists enjoy the diverse route options. Specially designed tours invite you to enjoy road cycling. Since 2016, the sporting competition highlight for racing cyclists has been the Kufsteinerland Cycle Marathon across Kufsteinerland with attractive side events centred around cycling. If you are looking for a long and enjoyable ride, there are two long-distance cycle routes that lead through Kufsteinerland. Enjoy travelling on two wheels in the gateway to the Tyrolean Alps.
The Kaiserradrunde takes cyclists around the Kaiser mountain range over a distance of 80 kilometres and 700 metres in altitude. You cycle along almost exclusively gravelled or asphalted cycle paths or quiet side roads with great views. There are various places where you can stop for refreshments, enjoy Tyrolean specialities or marvel at nature itself. The starting point is freely selectable.
The Pölvenradrunde is somewhat shorter. Around the Pölven, 30 kilometres of signposted cycle paths with the Pölvenradrunde logo wind their way through idyllic hamlets at the foot of the ‘Camel Ridge’, as some locals call it. The starting point is also freely selectable here, and it's worth stopping for refreshments in all the villages.
