Thiersee Dream Factory Adventure Trail

Walking through film history

From the castle, only the highest tower can be seen. The rest is sunken down in the middle of the meadow. Two pipes run underground close alongside. The entrance into an underground world of adventure. A voyage of discovery through film history. The Tyrolean Dream Factory Adventure Trail in Thiersee.

Hollywood in Thiersee

During the 40s and 50s, the passion play town of Thiersee was a mini Hollywood in the Alps. From 1946 to 1952, 18 films were made in this idyllic town at the heart of the Tyrolean mountains. ‘Das doppelte Lottchen’. ‘Wintermelodie’. ‘Blaubart’. The Tyrolean Dream Factory trail brings this era and films back to life. Stories. Anecdotes. 10 stations which submerse visitors in the film history of Thiersee in a playful and amusing way. Interesting information about the actors and directors of this time. From the playground at the ‘Doppelte Lottchen’ station to the underground corridors of Blaubart’s castle. The old dungeons offer plenty of adventure. The trail starts out from the Thiersee passion play house. The visitor centre offers initial insight into the film history of Thiersee before leading around the banks of the lake. A touch of Hollywood paired with an idyllic walk around the Thiersee lake.
