HAMLET

Why are you here?
What is it that you want?
What do you want to hear?
If it's a theater full of pain and wonder, then look no further.
For you have found it.

William Shakespeare's Hamlet is the best known, most important and most quoted play in world literature. Only rarely do non-professional theater ensembles dare to stage this legendary classic. The Stadttheater Kufstein takes up the challenge and presents the 425-year-old tragedy in a new guise - with brilliant directorial ideas and a team that combines young talent and a wealth of acting experience.
Experience the old story of the melancholy Prince Hamlet, who gradually realizes the bitter truth about his father's death. The play is about revenge and despair, love and betrayal, the lust for life and the longing for death. Nothing is as it seems. And even madness has a method here. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. The characters wander helplessly across the stage, laughing and crying as they balance on a fine line between being and non-being towards the inevitable end.
The rest is silence.

Ensemble:

  • KING CLAUDIUS of Denmark - Klaus Schneider
  • QUEEN GERTRUD of Denmark, Hamlet's mother - Barbara Dorfer
  • HAMLET, son of the previous king and nephew of the present king - Dominik Bubalo
