Like in the olden days
Travelling by train & ferry in Kufsteinerland
"All aboard!" the blue uniform and red tie fit impeccably. With a quick push, he slides the cap back a little bit. Operations manager it spells out in bright red letters. A loud snap. He closes the doors by hand. A squeak. A jolt and off goes the museum railway. Nostalgia on rails. It's a trip across the border from Kiefersfelden into Kufsteinerland on the Wachtl-train, like back in 1880. A few kilometres further on by the Inn River, nostalgia also rules. The "Ferryman, ahoy" may have been replaced by a bell, but the Inn ferry still travels from Ebbs to Kiefersfelden, like in the olden days. A ferry of larch wood, which makes the Inn and the Tirolean natural landscape around come alive from a very different perspective, just like in the past.
