A touch of Hollywood

The Ebbs Stud Farm, the world’s oldest Haflinger stud farm, is situated before the imposing backdrop of the Zahmen Kaisers in the extensive meadows around Ebbs. One of the highlights of the stud farm is the Haflinger Museum which explores the origins of the Haflinger horses. Some of the exhibition pieces are over 100 years old and were sourced from the imperial carriage maker Jacob Lohner of Vienna. A touch of Hollywood surrounds the 200+ year old original saddles from the film ‘The Last Valley’. A classic film featuring Omar Sharif and Michael Caine in the lead roles which was filmed in Tyrol, in part. The old saddles, wooden sledges and carts are used in various show programmes at the Ebbs Stud Farm. Events which impressively demonstrate the diversity and ability of animals of Tyrolean origin. The world Haflinger centre is open to visitors all year round.
