Distance: around 30 km
The historic centre was built in Inn-Salzach style and is a pedestrian zone today. Here the Südtiroler Strasse is the busiest section of this traffic-free zone.
The Inn cycle path also goes directly past Rattenberg, and a detour to the centre of the town is always worthwhile.
The former Augustinian Monastery today houses the Augustinian Museum, which has ecclesiastical exhibits from the region. The handcrafts museum is located in the ‘Nagelschmied’ houses, which have existed since 1148.
Numerous businesses (especially with glass-blowing work), cafés and souvenir shops grace the centre of town – which has a slightly mediterranean flair.
