The second most potent sulphur springs in Austria were discovered when there were fires in 1950 in Bad Häring – the first spa town in Tirol. Test boring at a depth of around 300 m revealed a sulphur-containing source, which provides a healing source for illnesses such as rheumatism, vascular problems and stress.

Blaue Quelle in Erl invites you to come and romanticize. 700 litres of mineral-bearing water are emitted from the mountain every second, at a constant temperature of 7 degrees Celsius. It is also a conservation area.
The only ice cave accessible to the public in West Austria is situated on an Alpine plateau to the north of Angerberg, 2.9 km north-east of Mariastein. The main entrance is at 1520 m altitude. The cave is comfortably accessible via the marked pathway, either from the Inntal via Buchacker Alm, or from Hinterthiersee via the Köglalm and Hundalm. Hundalm ice and dripstone caves lie in Wettersteinkalk and their origin lies in a distinctive tectonic fault which penetrated a steeply inclined forested hill in a NNW-SSE direction. A trip to the cave would certainly be a very special experience indeed for you and your family. You can get a few impressions of this natural monument on a virtual tour through the cave.
Accessibility:
From Lankampfen: via the well-constructed forest road from Mariastein to Buchacker, then continue to the ice cave – walking time around 3 hours from Hinterthiersee: head for Modal to the Köglalm, continue to Hundsalm and then up to the ice cave – walking time around 2.5 to 3 hours

These days we can travel to Hexenbach, Hexenwald and Hexenwasser on comfortable routes in the tracks of the witches. The main attraction is the 450 metre long "waterway" of Hexenwasser from its beginnings at Gasthof Hochsöll, to Stöcklalm. 30 play-, health- and refreshment-stations have been set up along Hexenwasser, most are concerned with the topic of water. Right at the start a Kneipp pool invites you to refresh your feet in the cold mountain spring water. Children feel at their best when playing and splashing about in the ‘climbing pool’, on the ‘wave path’, in the labyrinth and on the witch slides. Along the Hexenbach the water can be dammed, you can look for stones, observe life in the water with a magnifying bug box and much more. Where the Hexenwasser and the Hexenbach meet, the path winds its way up to Hexenwald. The Hexenseilbahn, Hexenboden, and the Holzknechtssölle provide all sorts of adventures for children. Visitors hover in two gondolas to the Hohe Salve and Hochsöll. A large playground for the whole family awaits ...

Großglockner High Alpine Road
This very famous Alpine road takes you into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, to the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner (3798 m) and its glacier, the Pasterze. At 48 kilometres this high Alpine road, which has 36 hairpin bends, climbs up to 2504 metres altitude, provides a very special experience of nature, and of driving! You cross through a unique mountainous realm, where there are blossoming Alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, mighty cliffs and eternal ice, all the way to the foot of the Großglockner and ‘Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe’.
The Großglockner
The highest mountain in Austria is one of the highest summits in the East Alps and is known as the "holy mountain". The first ascent was in 1800. His majesty Emperor Franz Josepf and Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) hiked there in 1856 to the site which has since that time been referred to as "Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe".
The history
The Großglockner high Alpine road, which was built in just five years and finished by 1935, is a cultural monument. Historical finds at Hochtor are proof that people have been crossing the Alps here for three and a half thousand years.
