A rendezvous of the senses - Visit us and discover the symphony of the senses
Seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, tasting. See how our glassmakers create a symphony of the senses from the versatile material of glass.
Nothing has changed in the composition of this glass for 4,000 years. The naturally occurring elements of quartz, limestone and alkalis are heated to a temperature of 1,000 degrees Celsius to become liquid and mouldable. It is "only" 2,000 years ago that the blowpipe was used for the first time in ancient Rome for making glass. This made it possible to blow the glass into different shapes.
In our factory in Kufstein, our glassmakers still use this antique method to produce the world-famous Riedel glassware by hand with the utmost care and precision. Claus J. Riedel was the first in the long history of glass to make the design of the glass follow the character of the wine. He was thus the inventor of the functional wine glass.
Seeing the positive in life is closely linked with joy and enjoyment. Enjoyment is communicated by our senses, and it is this subject we have dedicated our multimedia show "Symphony for the senses" to. Share the joy of witnessing our "Symphony for the senses" with us. Embark on a journey through our world of glass and the senses.
When buying lasses from Tirol as a gift...there's only one place to go
Those buying the world-famous glasses and wine decanters by Riedel right at the place of their manufacture will always be on the inside track. In the glassworks the customers can watch how their glass is created, how much care is applied when blowing it and finishing it by hand. In the "Symphony for the senses" emotions show, they can discover the adventure of perception, and the modern, well-lit shop of the glass company with a generous 300 square metres is also an essential part of the manufacturing plant. The specialist staff will advise you individually and expertly explain the core issue of the Riedel glass philosophy "Which glass for which wine?".

Wood – the stuff trees are made of! Workshop - Sales - Exhibition
Wood-carver Stefan Käser’s small workshops and the matching showroom for this "one-man operation" are almost like a living room, or even a farmhouse parlour. There is the scent of lime and of Swiss stone pine wood, sometimes of wood from nut and fruit trees too. These types of wood are the preferred cutting materials, which are worked using cudgels and carving tools.
Even as a child this woodcarver, who works in Niederndorferberg, was involved in carving. In school during his favourite craft lessons when a chess board was made, he took on the additional task of cutting the figures. Stefan Käser was able to learn about his trade of choice in Elpigenalp. And in the meantime his business is now celebrating 30 years. His passion, a love of wood and of nature, has stayed with him to this day.
His wood carvings are made entirely by hand. There is always the chance that you'll get to see him at work in his workshop, or the little showroom during business hours. You get to observe how this sculptor, who is very conscious of tradition, really understands how to create pieces of art which are somewhat modern in style. He works in his workshop to his own designs, or to individual requirements. Many of his pieces have taken several hundred hours to make.

The name of our handcraft is derived from the used material, a peacock's feather split into thin stripes. Already in the early Middle Ages, the decoration of the belt provided information on the social position of the owner. It was used as money bag and baldric.
Since the 18th and 19th century different decorating techniques are used, with brass or tin, rawhide or pinfeather stitchery. Our company specializes in the rawhide and quill embroidery, which can be decorated with embossed work of all kinds.
From the highest quality leather and finely divided stripes of peacock feathers or rawhide stitch by stitch unique and individual items are made by handcraft. In addition, all our products can be stitched with fine silver plated wire. This special decoration technique has been developed by us as a continuation of the silver embroidery flattened wire.
All our clasps can be made with personal engraving or hallmarking in silver, brass or nickel silver. They are handmade for us in Bavaria and Tyrol in small businesses.
Restorations of historic products are designed with best expertise and attention to detail. Not like new, but pertinent to the charm and character of the piece.
We would be also glad to support you in dating or selling your belt.
